Over the past two years I have worked on two major projects.

Think for Yourself

The first, in 2008, was a series of three clubnights in Leeds venues called Think for Yourself.  Featuring live music, visuals, participatory artwork and DJing, it initially began at The Common Place, before moving to The Library on Woodhouse Lane.  Having a team of four other people no doubt helped to make the project a huge success, and the final event attracted 300 people to the small upstairs room at The Library with headliners Mr Beasley (Bad Sneakers Records).

Are You Listening Leeds?

Based in an empty shop unit in Leeds city centre, this project came about as the result of a discussion about the sounds of city life, whether sounds were afforded the same aesthetic status as visual culture, and how sounds were used and heard in a city.  Working with Kristina Diprose and Joshua Sadler, together we devised a 24-hour soundscape of the city reduced to 24 minutes, recording in 24 different locations.

In early 2010, we submitted our proposal to Art in Unusual Spaces, a Leeds City Council project to regenerate empty shop units through art installations.  The event was held on Saturday June 12th 2010 in Leeds Shopping Plaza and was highly successful, with around 120 people experiencing the installation during its seven hours of duration.
